MODEL: PSA9120S

I spilled my coffee while heating in a GE Microwave Model: PSA9120SF5SS November 2018 microwave on 9/24/22 at about 5 pm that was installed by Ryan home in 2019 when we purchased our new construction home. Later that night about 12:30 am on 9/25 I heard a popping noise and when me and my husband went down stairs to see what it was the microwave was sparking and smoking. We immediately cut the circuit breaker to the microwave and then unplugged it. We unscrewed the bottom of the microwave to see what had happened and the coffee had spilled into the bottom where the electrical wires were connecting the light but one of the wires had seperated from the others and was touching either the water or the metal. It was charred. This could had caught my house on fire. This seems to be a defect, why can water get into this area?? I have pictures of the wires and the microwave and I sent GE an email and photos. Their response was to give me a discount to purchase the microwave for $547. The microwave is completely fried and I have to get a new one. We also had to replace the control panel on the microwave in 2020, I believe because it died just after the warrranty ended.
