I was making coffee in a French press, I poured hot water (over 200F) and pressed the plunger of the press. The plunger of the French press fell apart (unscrewed) in the pot and splashed the hot water over my forearm. The injury was a second-degree burn. I contacted Amazon (selling the product) to contact the manufacturer (Mueller) to change the instruction for use because there was no warning or caution to tighten a plunger after every using the press. Amazon gave me $53 but no warning or caution was provided since I reported. I also contacted Mueller and explained what happened. They wrote me saying that they will investigate the incident. I have not heard from Mueller since then. There is no change in the advertisement of the product.
