LG THINQ LAUNDRY CENTER (WASHTOWER DRYER STACKED ON TOP OF

LG ThinQ Laundry Center (washer-dryer combo washtower) – Model No WKGX201HWA — purchased Sept 2021 (1 year ago) – Gas Dryer failed to ignite natural gas. Gas dryer did not send out error codes or alarms and failsafe did not activate (unit did not shut down) and dryer continued to inject natural gas into dryer unit. Natural gas smell spread throughout laundry room and could be smelled throughout the floor of the house. Turned off dryer and valve to gas line. Called gas company which sent a tech that tested gas valve, gas hose to dryer and then drye itself. Gas company tech confirmed presence of unburned gas in dryer unit and that it was a gas dryer issue. Unit remained untouched until an LG tech arrived two days later. At that time the unit operated normally. LG tech gave a cursory inspection of unit (opened top and used a flashlight to peer inside – and stated unit was operational. LG tech did state one scenario that could cause such a failure would be an issue with the motherboard. I asked LG tech if he would want a gas dryer in his house (with kids) that had already demonstrated ability to fail with gas continuing to pour into unit – and no cause determined. Tech stated unit works ‘now’ and it would be the decision LG management if anything further were to be done.
