I have a safety concern about a crib. Below is a Copy of message/concern I sent to Delta Children today (8/19/22)
My name is [REDACTED]. I can be reached via email at [REDACTED]
I’m not sure who best to contact about a safety concern/issue. We have the Delta Children Milo 3-in-1 Convertible Crib (553130-026), which we bought new in June 2021 from the Delta Children Store on Amazon.
My 8 month old infant has gotten her legs and arms stuck between the bed side slats/rails on multiple occasions. She has great head control, can easily roll in all directions, and is nearly crawling. *Today (8/19/22), after being placed in her crib for a nap she rolled to her side and at an angle, and then eventually her tummy and in the process got her left leg stuck in the slats. She was tired and due to getting her leg stuck she became distressed. Although she has great head/neck/torso control, after a short while of being stuck in the slats, she appeared to be having difficulty keeping her head/chest up. If she had been left there too much longer she very well could have suffocated on her crib mattress (also a Delta product) because she got stuck. I am very concerned that this could happen again to my daughter or to other infants and cause a fatality. I will no longer be placing my infant in this crib, which is supposed to be a safe sleep place. Instead I am going to have to spend money again to purchase a crib that is safe. I am hoping that Delta Children may be able remedy the issue in some way so that I don’t have to buy another crib and so that the safety concern can be addressed for others who may have the same crib.
*Please note, I do have a recording of this incident. Additionally I am going to explore options for reporting this safety concern to CPSC and/or [REDACTED].
