GOOGLE NEST THERMOSTAT

We had a lightning strike near our house. The power surge caused a Google Nest thermostat to fail in a manner that put it in “EMERGENCY HEAT” mode, causing the interior temperature to go to 114°F. An elderly tenant was found unresponsive in that heat less than 48 hours later, and passed away about a week later in the hospital.
